As an ASCAP member I receive a daily brief with articles of interest to musicians and songwriters. I just received a link to an article about the upcoming release of Neil Young’s long-awaited Archives Vol.1. For singer-songwriters like me, Neil has always been the gold standard. He has never been afraid to take chances and try different things. He has never been afraid to say what he thinks, and he never seems to mind when people think that something he does sucks. He just keeps cranking it out – something all of us singer songwriters aspire to do until we breathe our last breath. It’s expensive so I’ll have to save my Ben Franklins, but I can’t wait to get my hands on it… to wrap my brain around it. And, I’m sure I’m not alone.
